Hotel Atos

It’s the start of another break in Prague, and for this particular break we would try out another of the Czech capital’s city hotels, this time the Hotel Atos, a 3-star hotel situated close to the River Vltava.
Another hotel, another visit
I did say that we’d be at another different hotel in Prague, but this was actually our second stay here as we previously stayed at the Atos back in the summer of 2024 (I just didn’t blog about it). So for context I’ll try to mention parts from both stays here.
Visit one – from budget cramped to big space
On our first visit we arrived here having spent a few days in Berlin, where due the Men’s Euro 2024 tournament all the good hotels were fully booked and so we ended up in a budget hotel with small rooms. So it was a very pleasant relief that at the Atos we were able to book a proper-sized room for two, albeit probably a bit bigger than we really needed but still, the extra space was gratefully appreciated.

Whilst the extra space in the room helped, the lack of air-conditioning combined with the noisy streets (the hotel is right next to the tram lines) did make for a some not-so-comfortable nights. The general consciousness was that our particular room would be more comfortable during the cooler months outside of summer. BTW the location of the tram lines is also a positive when it comes to getting the the hotel (see below).

Visit two – more standard sized room but still sufficient
Despite the concerns from our first visit to Hotel Atos, which to be fair were only minor in the grand context of things, we felt that overall it was a good hotel especially the location. We were therefore more than happy to make a return visit to the Atos in April 2026.

This time we were booked in a smaller double room that was still sufficient for us. Whatsmore our room this time was on a higher level and we weren’t subjected to the noise problems that we encountered on our first visit. Needless to say this particular stay at the Atos was far more enjoyable.
Room facilities
Both of our rooms had plenty of the usual facilities that you’d expect from a good hotel including TV with a mix of standard Czech and German channels plus a small number of news channels in English and French.
The washrooms were to the high standard that we’ve become accustomed to, coming complete with walk-in shower and wash basins.

Breakfast underground
When it came to morning breakfast we’d make our way to the dining area which here was situated in the lower ground floor. It has to be said that the dining rooms here are not exactly the most spacious but given how busy the hotel was we still able to find a table for the essential morning grub. The breakfast offering here consists of the usual continental range of bread, croissants, fruit, cereals and cold meats, as well as some hot choices including bacon, sausages and scrambled eggs. There’s also the usual selection of hot and cold drinks available here.

Atos again?
All things considered from both stays here we’re happy to say that the Hotel Atos is a really good hotel with a lot to like about it. The rooms were sufficient with comfortable beds (despite the hot weather on the first visit), the staff were their usual helpful, friendly selves, and the hotel’s location is another plus point being right by the tram lines (if the noise at night doesn’t bother you too much) and also (personal plus point here) the Nightmare Horror Bar is just across the road from the hotel.
Getting here and more info
Address – Hotel ATOS, Mělnická 13, 150 00 Praha 5

Public transport note – As mentioned Hotel Atos is located right next to some of Prague’s tram lines, and some of the trams that run past the hotel (e.g. line 15) go to the main railway station in Prague. So if you’re coming into Prague by rail and planning a stay at the Hotel Atos then the tram is something to consider.
