One micropub has that managed to keep going during the COVID-19 pandemic is the Dog & Parrot in Eastwood, Nottinghamshire. We caught up with the team at the Dog to get the full lowdown on how the pandemic has effected the business as well as their involvement with creating government pub guidelines, and some wider thoughts on the micropub trade going forward.
Nottinghamshire
Continuing my ongoing quest to visit different micropubs I head to the Nottinghamshire town of Eastwood to check out the Dog & Parrot.
Among the eight micropubs on the Eastwood-Kimberly trail are a couple of establishments in the village of Hilltop, including the venue that would kick-start this bustling micropub trail – the Tap & Growler.
The Nottinghamshire village of Hilltop is home to the first micropub of what is now 8 such establishments between Eastwood and Kimberley, and that 8th micropub happens to be in Hilltop itself. Time to pay a visit to the Pick & Davy micropub.
The section of main road that links the Nottinghamshire towns of Eastwood and Kimberley currently boasts eight different micropubs (at time of writing). Among the high number of micropubs situated along this stretch is a quirky watering hole in the village of Giltbrook – the Caught & Bowled.
