Creme De la Creme

You’re away on holiday, it’s a hot day and you really want some proper ice cream. That is something that often crosses my mind when on my travels in warm weather. This funnily enough brings me on to a recent trip to Prague when the weather was hot (proper summer there after-all) and we came across Creme De La Creme, a small dessert chain that specialises in gelato ice creams and sorbets.

Creme de la choice

Ice cream range at Creme De La Creme

Creme De La Creme currently operate six stores in Prague and all stores offer an extensive range of different flavoured ice creams and sorbets. Most of their stores offer vegan ice creams including Vegan Dark Chocolate and Vegan Salted Caramel, but even in stores that don’t have vegan ice cream they do have plenty of sorbet flavours to enjoy.

Sorbet range at Creme De La Creme

We visited their Národní store which appears to have the most extensive range of all the Creme De La Creme outlets, and this includes the biggest vegan selection available which here also offers Vegan Pistachio, Vegan Salted Peanut, and Vegan Coconut.

Now normally when it comes to sampling ice cream I tend to stick with plain vanilla, but with several interesting flavours to choose from I thought I’d dry something a bit different. On one of our visits here I decided to go for a two-scoop serving with one scoop of Oreo ice cream, and one scoop of White Chocolate with Roasted Almonds.

My ice cream choice

My wife and son both opted for the various vegan options available, and suffice to say they all enjoyed their respective choices.

Back for more creme?

Given the hot weather on this particular break in Prague and also how much we enjoyed our earlier cold treats here, we just had to pay another visit to Creme De La Cream. This time we were able to enjoy our ice treats inside. I once again went for the Oreo flavour, but this time with extra vanilla. Again my wife and son went for some of the vegan options, mainly the sorbets.

Repeat the above for another visit the next day.

Supreme creme

As far as ice cream shops go Creme De La Creme is one of the best that I’ve ever been to. There’s so much choice available with lots of different flavours to sample, and with plenty of vegan options available there really is something for everyone here. Creme De La Creme is hugely popular with locals and visitors alike if our visits are anything to go by (it was hot weather on these days which no doubt resulted in even longer queues just to get in).

We will no doubt be paying another visit to Creme De La Creme the next time we’re in Prague, and if you are planning a trip of your own to the Czech capital then I highly recommend you too sample some really delicious ice creams and sorbets from here.
