Kung Fu Ramen, Prague
Posted on

It’s quite rare for me to eat out at what could be described as authentic Asian cuisine (and no, Chinese takeaways don’t really count). I would get a rare chance to try out some authentic dishes (in this case serving a mix of Chinese and Japanese) by making a lunchtime visit to Kung Fu Ramen in Prague.
Chinese touches

The inside of the restaurant is appropriately decorated for the theme of martial arts. There are plenty of nice touches inside including lantern lights, martial art-themed artwork and wall coverings, even the drinks serving area resembles an East Asian hut. There’s some other nice neon light decorations inside that help to create some superb and yet relaxing interior surroundings.
Ramen grub time
The menu at Kung Fu Ramen consists, as you might guess of Ramen dishes. Most of these are soup dishes but there are also a few dishes available without soup, and it was a non-soup dish that I opted for. I chose the SukiYaki Beef Rice – beef Sukiyaki, rice, corn, edamame, bamboo shoots, black mushroom, green onion, and sesame seeds. On the menu the dish appears to come with egg on top but I asked for it without. This was a very rare occasion where I chose a beef dish as I normally tend to stick with white meat dishes, however on this occasion I’m glad I chose this dish. It was tasty throughout especially once I mixed all the ingredients up to help disguise the onion taste that I’m not normally a fan of. Needless to say this dish was a winner for me.

Good news if you’re vegan – Kung Fu Ramen have a good selection of vegan dishes to sample. My dining partner went for the Tofu Vegetarian Ramen – Tofu noodles, black fungus, bamboo shoots, corn, seaweed slices, bean sprouts, cabbage, and green onions.

Happy Ramen?
We did enjoy our lunchtime visit to Kung Fu Ramen and were very happy with our meals here. The food was very good, the staff were friendly throughout, and the restaurant interior makes for a nice place to enjoy some ramen cuisine. This eatery is another good independent in Prague that is worth checking out.
